This website sets two analytics cookies, and only once you have said yes to them. No ad networks, no fingerprinting, and nothing sold to anyone. Here is the full picture.

What we store

On this website, once you say yes: two Google Analytics cookies, _ga and _ga_GX6XDBES75. The first tells one browser from another, the second keeps the state of a visit, and both expire two years after your last one. Neither is set unless you tap “Okay” on the banner, and tapping “No thanks” leaves both off for good. They tell us which pages people read and where they arrived from, which is how the site gets better. They are never used for advertising, and ad storage stays switched off whatever you answer.
On this website: a single preference — aster.cookieConsent.v1 — saved in your browser’s localStorage when you answer the consent banner. It records whether you tapped “Okay” or “No thanks”, so we don’t ask again. It is not a cookie, it is never sent to our servers, and it identifies nothing about you.
In the Aster app (the app domain, once you’re signed in): strictly-necessary storage that keeps your login session alive. Without it you couldn’t stay signed in. Nothing there is used for tracking or advertising.

The two analytics cookies were added on 3 August 2026, and this page was updated the same day to name them, which is what the banner promised. The same measurement covers astertrack.app and aster-track.com, so a visit that starts on one and carries on in the other is counted once rather than twice.

Why

The consent preference exists purely so the banner doesn’t nag you on every visit. The app’s session storage exists so you stay signed in — which matters a great deal when you’re mid-ride in a place with no signal. Neither is used to profile you, follow you around the web, or sell anything to anyone.

How to clear it

Clear your browser’s site data for this domain (usually under Settings → Privacy → Site data, or by clicking the padlock in the address bar). The consent banner will simply appear again on your next visit. Clearing site data for the app domain signs you out of the app.
