FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Aster brings live tracking to the endurance races that never had it.
New UK platform puts the whole field live from the phones athletes already carry, with no hardware to ship, and riding, sharing and watching cost nothing, forever.
UNITED KINGDOM, 10 August 2026
Live tracking has long been a luxury in endurance sport. Following a race as it happens has meant a satellite tracker for every rider, shipped out, strapped on, recovered and replaced, so a handful of marquee races carried the cost and got a live audience out of it while almost everything else got a results sheet the next morning.
Aster removes the hardware entirely. The tracker is the phone the athlete is already carrying, so the whole field goes live with nothing to ship, nothing to hire and nothing to recover at the finish. Athletes start tracking from their pocket, and family, friends and fans open one link in any browser with no sign-up and see every athlete on one map with live gaps and ETAs. Watching never costs the audience anything, and it never will.
Clubs get one link that puts the whole club in, a shared route library and a club page of their own, so every club run and reliability ride can be followed by the people who care. Event Organisers can try the whole flow with a free club meet-up, then take a single subscription whose tier sets the field size across their events, with no per-athlete charge and no hardware line on the budget.
“Live tracking shouldn't depend on whether a race can afford crates of satellite units,” said James Vickers, founder of Aster and co-founder of RGT Cycling, which was acquired by Wahoo in 2022. “The phone in every jersey pocket and running vest is already a better tracker than the box on the handlebars. Our job is to switch it on, and to make watching someone you love ride through the night actually good.”
Aster is free on the App Store and on Google Play, and runs on iPhone and iPad on iOS 15 and later and on Android 7 and later, which is the phone almost every athlete already has in a pocket. Watching needs no app at all. A share link opens in any browser on any device with no download and no sign-up, so the people following an athlete never have to install anything to be there.
Aster puts any ride or run live on the map, and it makes them watchable live. Anyone can open a public event now at aster-track.com/discover and watch it with no account. Clubs and Event Organisers can start a conversation at aster-track.com/contact.
