Who you can follow
- Athletes — keep up with their rides, runs and posts.
- Teams and clubs — see their updates and events.
- Events — get updates about the event and the riders in it.
- Organisers — hear when they publish a new event.
Tap Follow on any profile or event page. Following is public — the people you follow and your own followers are shown on your profile. Tap Unfollow any time.
Following is free and unlimited — follow as many people, teams and events as you like, and unfollow any time. Watching a ride isn't following: you can always open a share link or watch a public event, on any device, with no account.
Finding people: Events and Groups
Two tabs in the main navigation help you find what to follow:
- Events lists events, with a Meet-ups tab alongside it for untimed group activities, and an Organisers tab listing every event organiser on Aster. Search or browse any of the three.
- Groups (shown as Social in the navigation) has tabs for Clubs, Teams and Riders — search a tab, or leave the box empty to browse.
Following anyone you find works with no account for the browsing itself; you only need to sign in when you tap Follow.
Your feed
Your home feed shows the latest posts and stories from you and the people you follow, respecting each post's visibility. It's the simplest way to keep up with everyone's riding and running.
Live now
When athletes you follow are out on a ride or run right now — and have chosen to let followers watch — they appear in a live now strip. Tap straight through to watch them live. Whether your own live rides and races show up here is your call, set under Who can watch me in Notification settings.
Getting notified
Following is what powers most notifications. Choose exactly which alerts you get in Notification types and Preferences and quiet hours.
Good to know
- New accounts start out already following the Aster founder, so your feed isn't empty on day one. Unfollow anyone you like.
- Following an event is separate from following the riders in it — do both for the full picture.
