The Compare view puts riders side by side so you can see exactly how they stack up. Like the rest of the spectator experience, it works without an account.
Compare needs a Riders tab to select from, so it's available on races, time trials, sportives and point-to-point events. Meet-ups don't have a Riders tab, so there's no compare view for them — see Reading the leaderboard.
How to compare
- On the Riders tab, switch on compare mode.
- Tick the riders you want to compare — between two and five.
- Tap Compare.
The compare page has its own web address, so you can share it or open a link someone sends you.
What you'll see
- Each rider's distance, time and (on ranked formats) position.
- Their current speed — shown for riders still moving; a finished or stopped rider's speed isn't shown.
- A gap matrix showing the time gap between each pair of riders. For time trials these are projected gaps based on each rider's own clock. On unranked formats (sportives and gran fondos, point-to-point events), the compare page shows no positions and no gap matrix, matching the leaderboard's neutral treatment.
- On time trials with checkpoints, a splits table — each rider's time at each checkpoint, with the fastest highlighted, so you can see who's quicker on which part of the course.
- An elevation profile with each rider's position marked on it.
Everything updates live as the riders progress.
Good to know
- Gaps for mass-start races are time behind on the same clock; for time trials they compare each rider's own elapsed time.
- A finished rider shows their final time in the comparison — it stops counting the moment they cross the line.
- You can compare riders from different categories.
