Blocking cuts an account off from you: they stop following you and stop seeing your posts, and you stop seeing theirs. It's for when you want distance from a specific account, straight away.
Important: blocking is a visibility and follow control, not an emergency service. If you're worried about your immediate safety, contact the emergency services directly from your phone.
What happens when you block someone
- Any follow between you and them, in either direction, ends immediately.
- Neither of you can follow the other again while the block stands.
- Their profile won't open for you, and yours won't open for them.
- You stop seeing each other's posts, comments and stories.
- On the live map and leaderboard for an event you're both watching, you stop seeing each other's live location.
Blocking doesn't rewrite the past: it doesn't erase ride history, and it doesn't change a result from an event you've both already finished.
How to block someone
- Open their profile.
- Tap ⋮ More options.
- Tap Block [name].
- Confirm. You'll be told: "They won't be able to follow you or see your posts, and you won't see theirs. You can unblock any time from Settings → Blocked users."
Once you confirm, it takes effect immediately and you're taken away from their profile.
Blocking and unblocking are both idempotent
Blocking someone who's already blocked, or unblocking someone who isn't currently blocked, both succeed quietly. Nothing changes, and there's no error. You can't accidentally double up.
Where to see who you've blocked
Go to Settings → Blocked users to see everyone you've blocked, when you blocked them, and to unblock any of them.
Unblocking
Tap Unblock next to their name in Settings → Blocked users, then confirm. It takes effect immediately: they can follow you and see your posts again. Nothing from before is restored automatically, if you followed each other before the block, you'll each need to follow again.
What blocking doesn't do
- It doesn't tell them they've been blocked. From their side, your content and profile simply stop appearing.
- It doesn't take down anything of theirs that's already public elsewhere, such as a shared Just Ride link or a public event result.
- It's a signed-in control. It changes what a signed-in account sees. It doesn't change what someone browsing a public event or profile anonymously, with no account, can see.
Good to know
- Blocking someone you follow, or who follows you, unfollows in both directions the moment you block.
