Both live in the app under Settings → Privacy & data. You'll need to be signed in.
Export your data
Tap Download my data to get a complete copy of what Aster holds for you, as a single JSON file. It includes your profile, the events you took part in and your Just Rides (with every GPS point recorded), your messages, follows, notifications and registered devices. It also covers the rest of what you've given us: your event registrations (including any emergency contact and the gender and age details you provided on older registrations), race licences, the consents you've agreed to, your payments, and any Alerts you raised. It's the full record, your own copy to keep or take elsewhere.
On a phone, the app hands the file to your device's share sheet so you can save it wherever you like. On the web, it downloads to your browser. Export is rate-limited (a few requests a minute), so if you tap it repeatedly, wait a moment and try again.
Delete your account
Tap Delete account to permanently erase your account. This is irreversible:
- Your profile, activities, GPS history, comments and follows are removed outright.
- A message or a feed post you sent that someone else might still see in a thread instead has its text replaced with [deleted] and is detached from you, rather than leaving a broken thread or feed behind.
- Your @handle is released and can be claimed by someone else.
- Your sign-in identity is removed, so you can no longer log in.
Some records with a lawful reason to be kept, for example a payment receipt, are retained with your identity stripped out.
The safety checks
Two things stop this happening by accident:
- You can't delete while an activity is in progress, whether that's an event or a Just Ride. Stop or finish it first, so live tracking data isn't destroyed mid-activity.
- You have to confirm by typing the exact confirmation phrase shown before the delete goes through.
Good to know
- You gave consent to the privacy policy when you signed up, and you can review it and manage optional marketing emails under Settings → Privacy & data.
