Club membership and Aster Plus

Clubs are free and never pay. Individuals choose Aster Plus to be a full member of an open club that has grown beyond the free tier — and if Plus lapses, nothing is ever deleted.

Clubs are free. A club never pays a subscription. Creating a club is free, and so is running it — meet-ups, the board, routes, RSVP and the register all work for nothing. The only thing anyone ever pays for is Aster Plus, an individual membership an athlete chooses for themselves.

How club membership works

  • A small club is free: the free tier covers a club of up to three members.
  • Beyond that, members of an open club join with their own Aster Plus to join in full. It's the member who chooses Plus — never the club.
  • New joiners can start with a short free Aster Plus demo to try full membership before deciding.
  • A club can have at most 500 members — a scale limit, not a paywall.

Aster Plus unlocks full club membership: the roster, the club chat and each meet-up's thread, RSVP, and meet-ups. Someone without Plus (once a club already has three members) can still follow and watch the club and its public events for free — they just don't take a full member's seat.

Get Aster Plus

Aster Plus is an in-app purchase, bought in the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android), billed either monthly or annually (annual works out cheaper per month) — you choose which when you buy:

  1. When you go to join a club that has grown beyond the free tier, the app offers Aster Plus — with the option of a free first week to try it first, no card details needed (once per person, across every club).
  2. Pick monthly or annual, and confirm through the store.
  3. You're a full member straight away — roster, chat, RSVP and meet-ups all unlock.

Current prices are on aster-track.com/pricing.

Good to know: Aster Plus is one membership across the whole app, not a club-only add-on — the same subscription that unlocks full club membership also raises a couple of personal, non-club limits (like how many routes you can save to your own My Routes library, and how far back your own ride history goes). None of that changes how club membership itself works, and none of it is required to use a club fully as an admin — see the club route library for how club routes are unaffected by your personal route-saving limit.

Manage or cancel Aster Plus

Aster Plus is managed where you bought it — in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions. From there you can update payment or cancel. There's nothing to manage on the club page, because the club isn't paying for anything.

If your Aster Plus lapses

Let Plus expire, or cancel it? Lapsing is safe. Nothing is deleted and no one is removed.

  • You simply drop back to following and watching the club — the same as any non-member.
  • Your rides, results, posts and history all stay exactly as they are.
  • Existing members are never removed. A club never loses members because someone's Plus lapsed.

Take Aster Plus out again whenever you like and you're back to full membership — everything has been waiting for you.

Good to know: because the club never subscribes, there's no club billing to fail, no grace period to worry about, and no plan that can switch club tools off. The tools are free for every club, forever.
