What clubs and teams are on Aster

Teams and clubs on Aster — every club is free, only individuals choose Aster Plus, and here's what stays free for everyone.

Updated 28 August 2026

A team on Aster is any group of athletes under one name — a cycling club, a running club, a group of mates, a race squad. "Club" and "team" are the same thing in the app; a club is simply a team.

Every team gets a page of its own with a roster, a club board, a route library, meet-ups, and a record of the events its members have taken part in. Anyone can create one, free.

Every club is free — members choose Aster Plus

There is no Club plan and no club subscription. Running a club — its meet-ups, board, routes, RSVPs and register — is free, always. The club itself never pays Aster anything.

Membership works simply:

  • A small club is free: the free tier covers a club of up to three members.
  • Beyond that, members of an open club join with their own Aster Plus — an individual membership, not a club plan — to join in full. New joiners can try a short free Aster Plus demo first.
  • A club can have at most 500 members. That's a scale limit, not a paywall — nobody is ever charged to keep the club running.

Aster Plus unlocks full club membership — the roster, the club chat and each meet-up's chat thread, RSVP, and meet-ups. Without Plus (once a club has three members) a person can still follow and watch the club and its public events for free.

Aster Plus is a monthly membership, bought in the App Store or Google Play. Current prices are on aster-track.com/pricing. See club membership and Aster Plus for the detail.

Good to know: taking part in events and spectating are free for everyone, always. Aster Plus is an individual membership — it never gates riding, running or watching.

What stays free for everyone

  • Spectating. Anyone can watch a public event or a shared ride link without an account — see share links.
  • Taking part. Registering for events, tracking rides and runs, results — all free.
  • Being in a team. A small club is free, up to three members; beyond that, member on, each new member takes out Aster Plus to join in full. The club never pays.

Where to find teams

In the app, open Groups (the Clubs area, with tabs for Clubs, Teams and Riders) to browse and search, or follow a link straight to a club's page. Each team page shows its logo, description, member roster and tabs for About (which includes the club board), Members, Rides (meet-ups and events) and Routes.
