When you create a meet-up you can keep it just for your club. A members-only meet-up works like this: everything a spectator would normally see on a public event — the live map, athletes' positions and trails, the participant list, the route — is visible only to signed-in, active members of the club. (A club can also open a meet-up to anyone on Aster; see club visibility and sharing for how that differs.)
A meet-up's page is the same map-first page every Aster event uses — the map is the headline, and About, Chat and the post-ride Club Recap open from an Info sheet over it. A members-only meet-up isn't a separate, simpler page design — it's the identical event page, with the same access check gating the whole thing for non-members.
Who can see a members-only meet-up
- Active club members, signed in — the full live experience: map, trails, participant list, route, and a recap (with a replay) once it's done.
- The meet-up's organisers (the creator and club admins) — the same, plus the register and everyone-home view.
- Everyone else — nothing. Someone who isn't a member (or isn't signed in) opening a members-only meet-up link sees a "members-only" notice, not the ride. It never appears in Discover or any public event list.
There is currently no guest or family access to a members-only meet-up — no share code or invite link lets a non-member watch it. If someone shares a members-only meet-up's link with you and you're not a member, you'll be prompted to sign in or ask the club for membership.
Good to know: if you want family to follow you on club night, a members-only meet-up itself can't be opened out to them today. What they can always watch is any public or unlisted event you ride or run, or a Just Ride you share with them — those stay free and login-free for spectators, always.

Inside a members-only meet-up the normal privacy tools still apply — hide-my-location and your tracking-visibility settings work exactly as on any other event. See who can see your location.
