A club page has a public face and a members-only inside. This article maps out which is which.
What anyone can see on a club page
- The club's name, logo, banner and description.
- The member roster.
- The Events view (inside the Rides tab) — public events the club's members have taken part in.
- Any meet-up the club has opened to anyone on Aster, or another public or unlisted event the club hosts (a club open day, say), on its Rides tab.
- The club's sponsor strip, if it has one — available to any club (and verified/pro teams).
Anyone can follow a club from its page to get its public updates in their feed.
What's members-only
- Members-only meet-ups — they don't even appear in the club page's ride list for non-members, and the meet-up page, live map and register are all members-only, and it never appears in Discover or public event lists. A meet-up the club opens to anyone on Aster is public instead — see the members-only live map for the difference.
- The club board — all posts. It lives on the club's About page, not a separate tab.
- The club route library — browsing the library itself is members-only. The one exception: an admin can generate a public share link for a single route, which anyone can open with no account (map, stats, elevation, GPX download) — opt-in per route, and only that one route, not the library.
Sharing a meet-up link
Every meet-up card and meet-up page has a share button that copies its link — the natural way to nudge clubmates: "you in for Saturday?".
- A member who opens a members-only meet-up's link lands on it, one tap from RSVPing.
- A non-member (or someone signed out) sees a members-only notice with a prompt to sign in or ask the club to join. The link never exposes the meet-up's map, athletes or route to non-members.
- A meet-up the club has opened to anyone on Aster works like any public event: the link opens straight to it, no sign-in required to watch.
Sharing an invite link
To bring new people into the club itself (rather than a single meet-up), admins share an invite link from the club page. Anyone who taps it lands on a join page showing only the club's name, logo and member count. There's no application to wait on — the invite is the approval. If the club still has room within the free tier, they join in full immediately; once the club has grown beyond the free tier, joining in full needs Aster Plus (their free demo activates automatically if they haven't used it, otherwise they join as a follower and are prompted to take out Plus). The club sponsor strip
Any club (and verified/pro teams) can display a sponsor on the club page and on meet-up pages — a display-only strip, typically the local bike shop that puts money behind the club. It's visible to whoever can see the page it's on.
